CMI works in partnership with key African organizations to support peace processes and the peaceful resolution of conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa. CMI’s decade-long experiences in mediation and peace processes, as well as its unique methodologies, add value to these partnerships.

• CMI supports the African Union and African sub-regional organizations in responding to conflicts through preventive diplomacy and peace mediation. We work on peace mediation support with the African Union Conflict Management Division and ACCORD at the continental level. We also work on peace mediation in cooperation with the West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC).

• CMI supports confidence building among groups and peoples within post-war societies. We, for example, work in partnership with the Government of South Sudan and local partners to support South Sudan in exploring common vision for the future of South Sudan.

• CMI promotes the strengthening of state-society relationships in order to facilitate the implementation of peace agreements. We work, for example, with the Government of Liberia to improve governance for service delivery.
