A new Executive Director for the Crisis Management Initiative (31.8.2009)
The Board of the Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) has in its meeting of August 24, 2009 appointed Tuija Talvitie as the new Executive Director of the organization. She will take on her task as of November 1, 2009.

Tuija Talvitie has acted as the Director of British Council Finland since 1997 and she has been a member of the Board of CMI since 2005. She has a longstanding background in cultural relations, organizational management and social development.
Tuija Talvitie (b. 1959) has an MA degree in English Philology and International Politics.
The Chairman of the Board of CMI, President Martti Ahtisaari said that he was “extremely pleased to have Tuija Talvitie as Executive Director.”
The Board of CMI also decided to appoint Director of Programmes Kristiina Rintakoski as Deputy Executive Director as of November 1, 2009.
