EPNK meets in Brussels: Progress and Prospects
The European Partnership for the Peaceful Settlement of the Conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh (EPNK) organized a high level meeting and a panel at the European Parliament on October 19th, 2011. CMI, together with the other members of the partnership, participated in a panel discussion on the conflict, the results of the work conducted by the partnership, and the future of the region.
At the meeting, the various members of the EU Parliament and the EU External Action Service shared their views on the situation in the South Caucasus. They affirmed their support for the peaceful resolution of the conflict and emphasized the EU’s interest in playing a supportive role in the region.
The event was attended, among others, by the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Phillipe Lefort, John Kjaer, Head of the Eastern Partnership Division at the European External Action Service, as well as the the Armenian and the Azerbaijani Ambassadors to the EU.
The meeting was followed by a reception and an exhibition on the results of the partnership, which includes International Alert, Conciliation Resources, and Kvinna till Kvinna, and LINKS (London Information Network on Conflicts and State Building). The exhibition featured photography and videos produced by the consortium members and their regional partner organizations on various aspects of their work.
