Juha-Matti Seppänen - Project Manager

Juha-Matti Seppänen is the Project Manager for CMI's reintegration project in Afghanistan. He is responsible for initiating CMI’s presence and activities in Afghanistan, including budget management and coordination with project partners.

Juha-Matti joined CMI in January 2007 and has held several project manager positions and was the acting director of MARRF in 2009. Prior to joining CMI, he worked in the Ministry of Defence of Finland during the Finnish EU Presidency as a member of the ESDP team concentrating on Civil Military Cooperation as well as Crisis Management operations. He has experience from Afghanistan (2004-2005), where he served firstly as CIMIC and staff officer and later as Political Representative in the Provincial Reconstruction Team Meymaneh in ISAF (International Security Assistance Force).  He has a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Helsinki (2002).
