
Philippe Taflinski - Field Coordinator
Philippe Taflinski is the CMI Field Coordinator in the Republic of South Sudan. Based in Juba, he represents the organization in the country and is in close contact with our Southsudanese partners for implementation of activities, he coordinates with government interlocutors as well as with the international community.
With the University of Juba Centre for Peace and Development Studies as well as the Organization for Nonviolence and Development (ONAD) he is implementing field activities for our project on “youth dialogue on confidence and state-building”. In addition, Philippe coordinates closely with the South Sudan Peace and Reconciliation Commission on the support activities that we are providing to our government counterpart in the country.
Prior to taking up his current assignment with CMI, Philippe worked in Sudan (North and South) as long-term observer with the Carter Center for various processes related to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. This entailed monitoring the Referendum on Self-Determination of Southern Sudan, the Popular Consultations in Blue Nile state as well as the interim period between the referendum and independence of South Sudan from a governance point of view. Apart from this, Philippe has working experience in the humanitarian and development sector in Southern Sudan as well as with the European Union Delegation in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Philippe holds a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies from University of Maastricht, The Netherlands, as well as a Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Lille, France.
