Mikheil Mirziashvili - Senior Project Manager

Mr. Mikheil (Misha) Mirziashvili is the Senior Manager of the Black Sea Peace Network project. The project aims at effective involvement of the civil society in the peacebuilding process through establishing self-ruling expert councils and, via regional approaches, strengthening local efforts for security peace in the region of the Black Sea.

Mikheil Mirziashvili has been working in the NGO sector for about 15 years. The focus of his work has been the media as a tool for raising society's awareness of the issues of conflict resolution and democracy building.

Having worked as an executive secretary of a newspaper and an editor at various television stations, he both conducted research and made talk-shows and documentary films on the societal and political problems relating to issues of ethnic and religious minorities, human rights protection in Georgia, conflict resolution and prevention, elections and political parties. His most recent assignment was as Program Manager at Open Society–Georgian Foundation.

Mr. Mirziashvili has studied at Tbilisi State University and Columbia University, New York.
